Stop with the guilt.


As a working mom, we wear a lot of hats.


Mama, wife, daughter, friend, employee, scheduler, bill payer, housekeeper, cook, chauffeur - I could go on forever.


Some days the stars align and everyone in the household is healthy, there are no tantrums, and we get out the door on time, coffee in hand and crush the day.


Other days it's more like this past Thursday. I got the dreaded phone call - you know the one I'm talking about. DAYCARE.


He was throwing up, everywhere.


Real life at its finest. We have all lived it. In that moment it didn't matter what the remainder of my work day was "supposed" to look like, I packed up my things and headed to pick up my baby. Working moms make these kinds of decisions everyday. We juggle between life and work and try to find the best balance we can. Sometimes we get it right, and sometimes we don't.


And on the days that we don't, the guilt sets in.


Guilt about not being there when we should have been for our kids, guilt for not being a good enough employee because our kiddos are sick for the 14th time this year. Will we be viewed as not dependable? Guilt because today .. today it was a win to just"get through"the day.


But you ARE enough, mama and you are not alone. I am reminded of this every day that I go into work. You guys, I am surrounded by working moms who are absolutely CRUSHING it and they have been there too. We all have.


So clean the throw up off your dress, throw a little dry shampoo in your hair and stop with the guilt - because tomorrow is a new day and us working moms need you.
